Rabbi Mendel and Leah Gotsel

Rabbi Mendel and Leah Gotsel are among the Chabad emissaries in Moldova, serving with dedication to strengthen Jewish life in the Bender, Tiraspol, and Transnistria region.

As part of their mission with Chabad Moldova, they devote themselves to strengthening Jewish identity, developing active community life, and providing a warm home for local Jews and visitors to the region.

Rabbi Mendel Gotsel is involved in organizing prayers, Torah classes, Shabbat meals, holiday events, and providing spiritual and practical assistance to community members and visitors. He serves as a central address for Jews in the region who seek guidance, support, and connection with local Jewish life.

Alongside him is Leah Gotsel, a full partner in the communal mission. She is active in programs for women, families, and children, helps organize community events, offers hospitality, and creates a warm, welcoming, and family atmosphere for everyone who comes to the Chabad House.

Together, they work to preserve and develop Jewish life in a region with a rich Jewish history, while caring for the spiritual and practical needs of the local community.

In addition to their ongoing communal work, they assist visitors with kosher food, visits to Jewish cemeteries, regional tours, and general travel information.

Rabbi Mendel and Leah Gotsel continue their Chabad mission in the region with devotion and serve as a warm and open address for every Jew.
